The most important thing

Time went by and I started to share my experiences and thoughts in articles in various magazines (list). It happens very often that I get answers from healthy people who loose faith in sense and value of their lives despite good phisical condition.

Usually after some letters or meetings joy and beauty of life starts to grow inside their souls. All that I can give them is just understanding, acceptance, conversation, common walkings or chances to help me. But all these things give them a chance to feel that somebody needs them, that they can do good things and they can find in doing it the most important thing in life...

One student-girl wrote me after several days spent at my house: "Your true and deep joy is still for me an example how to live. If I am now different, better - it all happened due to you. Somebody said that examples draw and I still learn so much when I am looking at you. I can discover then the real beauty of life..."

It is obvious that possibility to walk, an independence and freedom are priceless and beautiful gifts but are they the most important things? There are lots of people who tend to be healthy and have everything they need but they do not feel happy, they lose sense of their lives and even commit suicide. In my opinion a source of sense of life, joy and beauty is how much love we give and in consequence how much love we get. Good phisical condition is just a mean that makes possible offering yourself for the good of other man; it is like evangelic talent that can be invested or wasted.

Once I was looking pieces of wood burning and I thought that maybe God wants me to be such a piece of wood. Not every tree can became for example beatiful furniture but it can be burnt and in that way it gives light and warmth. As well as it can wait to become something that it is not destinated to be. It is like phisical condition which is not important. The most important thing is engagement in realisation of your own vocation.

Due to the people who can find with me joy and sense of life I feel that handicap is bad only if it limits us in making good things. But the source of good is God who acts through our hearts and mindes. So I am able to offer true Fiendship in which we can be enriched with common experiences and with all these things that constitute an internal life.

I am sure that dialog is important in every relationship because only then our relationship can be deeper and more beautiful. It does not matter that a letter or conversation can be a passing while. If we do not offer each other anything because there is no time, courage, place etc. nothing will join us. I cannot make friendship with such people because it is impossible to create a relationship between people if only one side desires it.

When there is not an image of what is inside us - our thoughts, feelings, desires and fears - even if we are together we feel emptiness and hopeless. However there are people who do not let me feel useless even if they are not beside me because my life searches its sense deep inside their hearts. I think that real meeting happens when people share their most personal thoughts and I do experience God in other people. These are moments when I feel very happy but sometimes it happens that I can trust only God despite everything...

I often get letters from people who are rejected, harmed and dissapointed... They are close to me because I know these feelings. But for me the most important thing is being conscious of the fact that this can happen in every relationship. But if you want to find gold you have to sieve lots of sand. So I do not give up making new friends however some of these friendships finish very quickly. But often it happens that you can find a very precious Friendship!
