Eucharist - Meeting with a Friend

There was nobody for several years who could be my friend or colleague. In that period of time only few people visited me - they were my teachers: Ms Aniela Michna and Ms Irena Oleksy. There were them who presented to me Jurek - a student of theology who beca`me a priest. He had his first Holy Mass in my room.

It was a very important moment in my life. It was the day of Jesus` presence in my room. I was moved and joyful when I received the Communion under the shape of Bread and Wine. Then I felt such a great God`s love that I felt as if I were in Heaven. I still have this feeling when I meet Jesus in the Eucharist.

This Holy Mass let me believe that if God wanted to be with me my life had to be senseful and meanful... maybe for the other people as well... At the same time I understood that our way to see suffers is more important than the suffers themselves and that standing them depends on values that are the most important for us and which shape the aims of our existance.

That is just my Faith that does not wait for things that are good in my opinion but this Faith is a source of trust that whatever happens because of God`s will is always good because it is deeply reasonable.

I can give one good example for it - there are my glasses. In people`s opinion they are nothing nice - they border me - so I would ask God to heal my eyes. However he gave me glasses so that He could make the bigger good for me - so that He could rescue my eyes and even life. It happenned when I was coming back with my friend by train from the holidays spent at the seaside. I was laying in the compartment under the shelf. There was an umbrella with sharp ending on the shelf. My friend took something from the shelf and moved the umbrella. I saw this umbrella falling with its sharp ending just towards my eye but I could not move with my head. It was a real miracle that glasses did not break. The ending of the umbrella slipped the glasses and it only breaked the skin of my nouse.

It is not hard to imagine what would have happened if I had not got my glasses - I would have my eyes injured or even I would have my brain damaged. I think that this experience is an evidence that God knows what He does. But firstly I had to accept my handicap and trust God so that He could do good things through my handicap.

Until I said "YES" I had lived in doubts between fight with what I got and with maybe the most full and active life in my conditions.

In the light of Faith I understood that while Jesus healed, while He multiplied the bread etc. people went for Him but were they His friends? Maybe they just used something that was useful for them? But during His Cross Way almost everybody left Him alone. These people who stayed with Him were able to love Him truly.
It gave me hope that maybe I would meet people who would not be disgusted with my handicap but who would treat it as a chalenge and who would not care for something that is superficial and passing.

I think that sense and beauty of life is the fact that you treat it like miraculous way through the mountains. Sometimes there is a difficult mountain that is impossible to be conquered if you try to do it on your own. But if you accept help from God who is present in our Friends you can pass limits of your fears and weaknesses because only in such way you are able to develop your Faith, Hope and Love.
